About Rob Lane

With over 45 years of garden design and horticultural experience, I have an intimate familiarity with California native plants and other beautiful plants from around the world that require minimal watering.

I specialize in Sustainable Garden Design and ‘Re-wilding’ — creating gardens that have a natural feel, thrive with little water and often mimic local ecological conditions. The gardens are natural, stylish, beautiful and functional.

Over the years, I have had gardens featured in Sunset, Santa Barbara and California Homes magazines and a pamphlet on Sustainable Landscaping published by the City of Santa Barbara. I have also received awards from Santa Barbara Beautiful.

I also help with efficient irrigation design, rainwater harvesting and can provide you with plants and garden layout prior to planting.

I can create detailed landscape plans, or simply assist you as a CONSULTANT or COACH, providing expert guidance and support as needed.
